Timber Frame Garages use traditional mortise and tenon joinery, one of the strongest and oldest carpentry methods used in wood construction. Instead of relying on metal plates like post and beam construction, timber frame construction uses a peg and beam method where one timber is fitted into a corresponding opening in another timber. The connection is then secured with wooden pegs, creating a strong, stable, and visually clean frame.

• Beams & Stringers: Douglas Fir Grade 1 or higher- as defined by the Western Wood Products Association (WWPA)
• Pegs: Oak
• Timber: S4S Milled & Milled FOCH (“Free of Center Heart”; meaning timber that is milled away from the heart of the tree will crack and split less than timber milled from the boxed heart in the center of the trunk)
• Roof Decking: Southern Yellow Pine

Setup & Delivery Notes 

• A level concrete pad is recommended before delivery. 
• Site prep can often be coordinated through Stoltzfus. 
• Delivery requires clear access, usually 2'–3' wider than the building. 
• Your garage is delivered directly to the prepared foundation.
